Establishment and Relocation (1970s - 1987)
Rickman Brooks, an esteemed firm of ICAEW Chartered Accountants, was established in the mid-1970s on Finchley Road, North London, under the leadership of partners Len Rickman and Robert Brooks. In 1987, amidst significant developments on Finchley Road, the firm relocated to North Finchley, where it resides to this day.
Expansion and Transition (1987 - 2001)
With the addition of Bernie Fellman as a partner, the firm evolved into Belvedere. In January 1997, Laurence Cohen joined as a partner, followed by Robert Muller as manager in 1998. Concurrently, Len Rickman’s decision to retire at 65 prompted Robert Brooks and Laurence Cohen to continue the practice.
Merger and Transformation (2001 - 2004)
A fortuitous encounter between Laurence Cohen and Frank Newman led to the acquisition of Newman’s practice, resulting in the formation of Belvedere Newman Ltd in February 2001. Subsequently, Leon Perkin joined forces with Belvedere, leading to the establishment of Belvedere Perkin Lewis Ltd in August 2004.
Enduring Resilience (2007 - Present)
Tragically, the passing of Robert Brooks in 2007 necessitated a merger among the remaining partners and office tenant Leon Perkin, culminating in the formation of Belvedere Newman (Finchley) Ltd in March 2007. This steadfast entity has continued to serve clients with distinction ever since.
Continuity Amidst Adversity (2020 - Present)
In April 2020, the untimely demise of Leon Perkin due to Covid-19 brought about a period of transition. Despite this loss, partners Laurence Cohen and Robert Muller persevered, upholding the firm’s legacy of excellence.
A New Chapter (2022)
On June 1, 2022, Krishna Prasad Dahal and Rajasegaram Somasundram assumed ownership, acquiring shares from Laurence Cohen and Robert Muller. With this seamless transition of leadership, Rickman Brooks embarks on a new chapter while remaining steadfast in its commitment to exceptional service.
